Lupus Mnemonic- Mnemonic device 1
The SLE mnemonic is simple first letter mnemonic as given below:

Lupus Mnemonic: Mnemonic device 2
This is a different approach to remembering the diagnostic criteria in SLE. Most of the words above do not trigger any mental images or the words are not easy to visualize. To solve this puzzle, we can use substitute words which sound close to the words in question.Once you have the substitute words, you can associate them with one another using linking system and create an illogical and
ridiculous lupus mnemonic story like I created in my previous article ‘cranial nerves mnemonic‘.
The table below gives you the substitute words.
SLE Criteria | Substitute Words |
Serositis | Sea Row Shy Teats |
Oral Ulcers | Over All Ulcers |
Arthritis | Heart Writers |
Photosensitivity | Photo Signs Witty |
Blood Cells | Blood In Cells |
Renal | Run All |
ANA | Anna |
Immunologic | Human Log Chick |
Neuropsych | Knee Row Psyche |
Malar Rash | Molar Rash |
Discoid Rash | Disco Rash |
So did you like the two approaches for lupus mnemonic? Did you find them useful? Could you come up with a ridiculous and illogical lupus mnemonic story? Let me know in comments!
